Joanne Sole is a native Saratogian. She has a Master’s degree in elementary education and special education as well as a degree in Education Administration. Joanne taught for 15 years in Saratoga at the elementary and secondary levels and then became an elementary principal in Cattauraugus County, NY and Galway Central School, NY for a total of 16 years.
Joanne continued her career as the Associate Director for the Capital Area School Development Association; an arm of the Education Department / State University at Albany for 5 years. This organization developed and provided professional development opportunities and programs for over 120 school districts in the Capital Region.
Retiring from school administration in 2005, Joanne became an instructor and internship supervisor for the Educational Leadership Program at the College of St. Rose from 2008 until 2014.
Volunteer and community service includes membership in the Saratoga Springs Lions Club, Proctors Theater Guild, Founding member of the Saratoga Mom Prom, Skidmore International Student Program, Saratoga County Rebuilding Together and is a founding member of Camp Abilities Saratoga.
Joanne has 4 children and 7 grandchildren, all of whom live a long plane ride from Saratoga. To be closer to her family, she has moved west and will manage her directorship virtually.
