Barbara J Martin is a resident of Gansevoort, New York who had the privilege to work and retire from the nursing profession with a focus in Perioperative Nursing. She began her career at Albany Medical Center and after 31 years of various leadership positions, retired with 12 years of experience as Director of Perioperative Services from Glens Falls Hospital, Glens Falls, N.Y.
Ms. Martin graduated from the Kingston Hospital School of Nursing in 1965, receiving the distinctive award of a diamond inserted in her nursing pin. She received her Bachelor of Science in 1996 from Russell Sage College and continued work toward a Master’s degree.
Ms. Martin prepared the RN services for Camp Abilites Saratoga for Aug. 2014 and served on the nursing staff as camp nurse. She is a member of the Saratoga Lions, currently the chairperson for the Diabetes Committee and Lion Tamer.
