Norman J. Smith has lived in the Saratoga Springs area since 1972. He retired from the Adirondack Trust Company as Vice President of Human Resources in 2008. Prior to that he served as Personnel Manager of the New York Mills of Hollingsworth & Vose Company and also in the Warehouse & Trucking Division of the Grand Union Company in New York and New Jersey.  He holds a Bachelor of Science of Business Administration majoring in Personnel Management and Industrial Relations from Temple University. 

Norman has been a member of the Saratoga Springs Lions Club since 1992. Positions he has held include President and Secretary. He was a founding Trustee of the Saratoga Springs Lions Foundation and founding Chair of the Lions Club Skating Stars. He is a Melvin Jones Fellow and a Robert Uplinger Award winner.

He is a former President of the Board of Directors of the Saratoga County Arts Council. He served as Chair of the Transition Committee of WSHWE BOCES and of the Saratoga Springs Community Partners in Education.

Norman and his wife Natalie have two adult children and one Grandson.

Currently Mr. Smith is a Board Member of Camp Abilities Saratoga. He has been an active volunteer in CAS since the first camp. He has been instrumental in procuring and maintaining all cycling equipment including tandem bicycles.
